He is also the host of this political humor podcast "Abe Lincoln's Top Hat". In 2017 Ben ran for Brooklyn Borough President with the Reform Party, which he didn't win, but there's always tomorrow! He's a political pundit with appearances on CNN, Fox News Network, HLN along with a nationwide radio host with labored on Sirius Radio and Fox News Radio. In 2015 as a political activist he managed to overturn an anti-cross grooming legislation in New Jersey. The Last Podcast on the Left is a weekly podcast featuring singer and comedian sponsor Ben Kissel, podcast producer and researcher Marcus Parks, and comic and actor Henry Zebrowski (who joined in the next episode), all of whom are longtime friends. Released every Friday, the episodes are generally one hour in length, with the hosts investigating the horrors of the world both imagined and real. Past episodes have researched the subjects of serial killers, conspiracy theories, UFO sightings, ghosts, and readings of fan-submitted creepypastas. Kissel, Parks, and Zebrowski tour with live performances of this podcast and create The Last Stream on the Left, a live-streaming spinoff series about the Adult Swim site. From the post-Trump era, using a reality TV star holding our nation's highest office, tales such as Kissel's are becoming more common -- droves of young men and women are becoming involved and seeking public office. On the 1 hand, the 2016 election showed us that applicants don't have to be qualified to win. On the other, it was a rude awakening the dissatisfied need to take politics into their own hands. Input Ben Kissel. In his "day job," Kissel -- combined with co-hosts Marcus Parks and Henry Zebrowski -- hosts a true-crime-meets-paranormal comedy podcast. Last Podcast on the Left is rated second on iTunes' comedy chart and draws fans across the world. But like many dismayed young Republicans, Kissel chose 2016 as a wake-up telephone to run for office. As someone who's been recorded in podcasts and on the radio for eight decades, Kissel acknowledges that a great deal of people hesitate to run for office for fear of criticism or using their past vulnerable. His advice? Own it. After all, he says, everyone has their own past, and as long as you "deal with the voters with respect and humanity," voters can "accept each of the flaws which go with that individual, provided that this individual is willing to accept them." Like the offenders he covers on Last Podcast, Kissel says with a laugh, "lots of politicians are sociopaths without a moral compass. Obviously not all these, but we need the people who have scruples, morals, and are worried about their own failings." For somebody who confronts the worst of humanity with dark comedy in his day job, 6'7" tall Kissel truly believes in the finest of people. He believes in sincerity salvation, and good goals. These traits may seem just as strange in a true-crime aficionado since they do in a politician, but they are the very same traits that give a young, non-politician the unique capability to serve the public. No matter what happens on Tuesday there is no losing. "The very fact that we are on the ballot is unbelievable, and that we are able to inspire individuals to run or participate in the political process -- that is a triumph. That is a massive win," he says. Kissel needs others to take heart in this message, too: "Losing is a significant fear for people, but who cares! Just get out there, and if you continue getting out, keep doing it in any field, you're gonna win." Continue Reading - Ben Kissel Bio
